Some of the backfeed you're hearing is that the camera (to which we cannot attach an external microphone) is picking up the room's ventilation system better than people's voices. I'm uploading the Main Meeting video as I compose this message; at Saturday's meeting, I worked harder to move the camera (which doesn't pan all that well) to point toward speakers. Also, more speakers at the Main Meeting used the lectern with its microphones.

Thanks for the feedback (no pun intended)!

The proposal to clarify the status of electronic voting on the Hugo Award and Site Selection was modified to permit e-voting on Site Selection only if the administering Worldcon and all bids on the ballot agree on the procedure.

Yay!

I can't wait to see the video. Hopefully the sound will be better than the prelim meeting video--that one had an odd backfeed sound. It might be better to set up the camera near the head table (so you can hear them better), but pointing toward the audience (so you can ID speakers). Of course, by the time you read this, it'll be too late.

I particularly enjoy plausible alt-history.

There's also a free bus around the area and to heathrow, but since most of the heathrow restaurants are inside the terminals, I'm not sure what that gets you. To the underground, I suppose. And the heathrow express rail is fast - 20 minutes to downtown, but also expensive.

What astounded me about the hotel buffet was not just how awful it was - hamburgers with no toppings except sauces, jacket potatoes with no veggie-based toppings despite how wonderful cheesy broccoli would have been, and how simple it is to do a proper potato bar, which we have at some US cons - but also that it was *exactly the same, every day*. Plus the horrible foods they served on the lunch buffet were also on offer at the atrium at dinnertime.

Other than that, some of the halls are *really* narrow. I also want to create a new version of the hotel map and improve the extra signage. what was there was good, but mainly directed people up, not down. I would also be tempted to tape or prop open the ground floor stairwell doors so people can walk up one floor from there.
